Trader Joe's Shopping!

Updated: Feb 21, 2019

Yesterday I was talking to a friend about my TJ visit and it dawned on me that pretty much the only items I buy from them are things friends have told me about. Several trips I have taken there have been with friends. It is a fun way to shop there, you show my what you like and I will show you what I like.

These are my top ten purchases from yesterday! Here we go:

Spatchcocked Lemon Rosemary Chicken - this is an easy go to for a comfort dinner that you can throw in the oven and tackle "momming". I love this as a go to for the busy spring sports season. It is something I can serve my people early, before activities, and again late when we get home. I like it with white rice and a veggie of choice. Usually for the early meal I have a veggie tray and hummus with some of this chicken and then we revisit the leftovers when we get home. You can find this in the produce area in between the cheeses and prepared foods.

Chocolate Croissants - it goes without saying one of my family members is a chocoaholic! She gets it from my Mom! HA! This is a tasty treat that is easy to make! You just throw these frozen pastries in the oven for 20 minutes and done! It is easy to do and wrap in a napkin to eat on the car ride to school. Too bad croissants are not gluten free! You can find these in the frozen section.

Cauliflower Gnocchi - Um YES PLEASE! I love me some gluten free gnocchi! I actually had a Blue Apron sent a few months ago that used the gnocchi as the dumplings. This is a little tricky with these because you need to saute these first and then add to the chicken and dumplings right before serving. They are great though with butter or some marinara sauce.

Mini Chicken Tacos - these were a hit on the way to dance in carpool with not only a hit with my daughter but with my friend's daughter. She loved them so much she asked me to tell her mom about them. I just you can tell we do a lot of eating on the go and throwing food around. HA! You can find these in the frozen section.

Gluten Free Mac & Cheese - I. Just. Can't. Even! For those that are on the gluten free wagon, this is a go to treat! I love this with the roasted chicken and love that TJ's is offering selections that are gluten free. This is a great quick option for kids on the go too. And did I mention it's only $3.49!! You can find this in the frozen section.

Everything But the Bagel - I recently found this gem from a friend. I knew it was a hit when I visited my TJ's with a friend and there was an aisle full of people looking for this and we all got the last bottle, there were four remaining and four ladies on the look out. I have to admit, I was curious what the hype was all about, well let me tell you . . . there is even a page that lists the Top 100 uses! 100!! I have used this on baked or grilled salmon, eggs, in chicken salad, you can see the uses are endless. Needless to say, yesterday I bought two extras, one for my neighbor and one for another friend. This one was even featured on the Today Show!

Danish Kringle - this yummy pastry is so good it even showed up to our deer lease with one of the GUYS! That's right! It is such a super easy breakfast treat and all it takes is 3 minutes in the oven. It is iced on the top and melts in your mouth. You can find this is the bakery section.

Mini Pizzas - I hate to admit it but we already ran out of these! They are delicious and the perfect sized snack. Yesterday I made a couple of these and some of the mini chicken tacos (we are out of those too already!) for my girls and a friend and they ate them in the car on the way to tennis. You can find these in the frozen pizza section.

Egg Fettuccine Pasta - this is my new "go to" pasta.
